Classification of Steel Fibres
Ⅰ. Steel fibre
Steel fibre has not been around for a long time, but its application fields are becoming more and more wide. Correspondingly, the variety of steel fibre is also increasing.
Ⅱ. Classification of steel fibres
1. According to the shape:
Straight steel fibre, pressed prismatic steel fibre, corrugated steel fibre, hook-shaped steel fibre, big head-shaped steel fibre, double-pointed steel fibre, bundling steel fibre, etc.
2. According to the cross-sectional shape:
Steel fibres such as hooked end steel fiber with round, rectangular, grooved, and irregular shape
3. According to the production process:
Cut steel fibre (cut with fine steel wire);
Sheared steel fibre (cut with sheet steel and strip steel);
Milling steel fibre (cutt with thick steel plate or steel ingot);
Melting-drawing steel fibre (pumped with molten steel). The most promising is the melting-drawing steel fibre, which has the lowest price.
4. According to the material:
Plain carbon steel fibre (tensile strength is generally 300~2500MPa);
Stainless steel fibre (304, 310, 330, 430, 446, etc. according to the material);
Other metal fibers (aluminum fiber, copper fiber, titanium fiber and alloy fiber).
5. According to the surface coating state:
Steel fibres without coating, with the surface coated with epoxy resin, galvanized, etc. In the industry, ordinary steel fibres without coating are widely used.
6. According to the classification of construction technology:
Steel fibres for spraying or pouring.
7. According to the classification of diameter size:
Ordinary steel fibre (diameter d>0.08mm);
Micro steel fibre (diameter d≤0.08mm);
Micro steel fibres are mainly used to reinforce plastics and asbestos friction materials.
